NOTES: This piece, a functional lean-to, was built using the reclaimed materials from gallery walls and the front desk at Artists Space in New York City. The walls contain evidence of the exhibitions previously installed upon them in their spackled holes, layers of paint, and some vinyl and wallpaper from exhibitions. The structure's design is based on the traditional Adirondack style lean-to found along the Appalachian Trail and other American wilderness areas. Installed at the Rockland Center for the Arts, West Nyack, NY as part of the Merit Badge 2 exhibition. |
